In percussion kits, when writing grace notes across multiple instruments in the kit, it is necessary to use Alt+left/right to arrange them into the desired order, because internally they will all be at the same position (since they belong to different instruments and we prevent there from being rhythmic gaps either between grace notes belonging to the same instrument or between the last grace note and the rhythmic note at the same position).
