How can I reassign MIDI tracks to incrementing MIDI channels

I’ve got a bunch of MIDI channels that I added for a plugin. The auto-increment didn’t adjust correctly from the previous plugin, so I need to change it so that it will start over from 1. I tried using various combinations of shift, control, alt, and clicking, but nothing worked except accidentally setting all of them to the same channel. So how can I reassign existing MIDI tracks to automatically incrementing MIDI channels?
