I’m setting up a Windows 11 64bit PC due to my old PC not being capable to upgrade to Windows 11. I would like to run both PC’s side by side until I am confident Cubase will work OK on the new PC. I did try but the new PC won’t except my dongle. Also hoping to upgrade to Cubase 14 at a later date.
Cubase 12 doesn’t use the dongle, it uses the new licencing system.
You probably know this if you’ve already installed on a machine.
Use this for up to 3 computers.
That’s the licensing part.
Would there also be a way to keep settings, presets, projects synced across the two computers?
(“Start the project here, resume there, …”)
Especially important when being creative in travel times with notebook and headphones, but doing the main work in the home studio with monitor speakers…
Copy/backup preference folder from older cubase and replace it, not sure if you can do this with the user profiles also, never used them
Syncing isn’t possible though, well maybe with vstconnect and/or some kind of remote control software like teamviewer… but the latency can be problematic
Whoops, so sorry I did say dongle, that’s my old age, Yes it does use the eLicenser.
