Hi there
I know this has come up before, and I’ve tried to apply some of the recommended work-arounds, but they don’t seem to work. I’d also like to add my name to the list to please please please add a function so that you can specify the minimum number of bars for a multi bar rest!
So - how can I disable the multi bar rests in the 1 and 2 bar rests in the attached piece, and keep them for the 4 or more bar rests? I tried entering a space in the text popover, but that hasn’t worked.
Also - why have bars 77-78 split into separate 3 & 1 bar rests? I haven’t knowingly split them, but who knows?
Thanks!
Bertie

There’s a hidden time signature there (maybe you’ve done something with the bar lines at some stage?). You can’t click and delete it straight away but if you shift it’s rhythmic position and then click/delete it, it will delete and the multi-bar rest will condense back.
See the below screenshot for where to adjust the bar count of single bar rests:
Regarding the 2-bar rest: It does split if you add text to it. You just need to make sure that the text item is placed at beat one of the second bar.
Copy an existing one (to save time) > activate the caret and navigate to the first beat of bar 64 > Paste
Great thanks!
I didn’t understand: ‘shift it’s rhythmic position and then click/delete it, it will delete and the multi-bar rest will condense back.’
I just deleted the bars and reinserted them and that fixed it.
Thanks again

It just means select the signpost and press Alt/Opt+Left or Right Arrow to move it left or right to the previous or next rhythmic position.
