How do I Automate Pitch in an a section of audio, within an Audio Track?

Hi All,

I am hoping there is a Cubase 12 Pro Guru out there who can help me with this question.

I am trying to automate the pitch of part of my audio sample. I have attached an image from what I do in Ableton Live.

There is an audio event in my project from bar 1 to bar 5. In the screen shot, you can see I have chose to leave the first beat as the original pitch, but then added a curve up 2 semitones between beat 2 and 3, which then has a linear descent back to the original pitch from beat 3 of bar 1 to bar 2.

I have tried using audio>processes>pitch shift and clicked the “envelope tab” however, there is no indication of bars or time and you have to guess where the beats and bars are in the waveform (This is not a feasible solution)

The next method I tried was to use a plug-in. In this case I automated the pitch of little alter boy, however, the automation lane shows a number that does not correlate to cents or semitones, this is not helpful.

The final method I tried was placing the sample in a sampler track, however, not the sample does not exist as an audio event in my project but as an instrument that I would have to record in, this is also not helpful.

Is there a way where I can just draw in automation for pitch that is linked to the audio event?

Thanks in advance!

Mitch

Unfortunately not that I’m aware of, would need to raise a feature request as it’s becoming more important to support.

Have you tried the “pitch correct” plugin? This allows you to draw a automation curve.
