Like I have already said, other than updating from Absolute 6 (Absolute 5 and before), It actually costs less to buy the full version of Absolute 7 than any other option. Full version Education costs more. Crossgrades cost more. Competitive Crossgrade (Qualified Products Falcon, Kontakt, Komplete (Select, Standard, Ultimate), Omnisphere) cost more.
These are no longer cost saving options. And why go through the Verification Process, when you can buy the full retail version and also pay less?
It’s a sale/promotion aimed at new users. When the promotion ends the prices go back to the update being the cheapest option. At other times there have been/will be sales on Absolute updates. Not every promotion is going to work for you specifically.
They are talking about update price from 5 and earlier.
As I explained, thats only the case while the promotion is active. Not sure what you’re not understanding?
If you really wanted to you could buy the new version with voucher and sell your old license. If you just want a cheap update you need to wait for a sale on updates.
Full retail price of Absolute 7 minus 60 percent off is $199.60.
Upgrade price of Absolute 7 from Absolute 5 and earlier is $199.99.
Would it not make more sense if you have Absolute 5 and earlier to purchase the full retail license of Absolute 7 with the 60 percent off voucher than to upgrade?
Sometimes there are promotions to buy a full version of the software..I guess this is to target new users.
Sometimes there are promotions for updates / upgrades. This would be for existing users.
What makes sense to me is to buy when the promotion that suits my requirements is happening.
Then quit whining and just buy the full license then? Problem solved, that was never really there to begin with, thread closed. Just a few days ago, you were complaining about being ‘ripped off’ for buying the wrong Halion license, which was your fault, because you don’t pay attention to what is going on.
