How do I change tempo in smaller decimal steps?

Hi everyone, in the transport zone, there is the tempo value where I can click and drag up or down to change the tempo. its only changes is that the value change by 1 bpm at a time. Sometimes I want to make smaller changes with decimals, like 67.50 instead of just 67 or 68. I tried holding different modifier keys and dragging to see if it will make the movement more sensitive, but none of those worked. So, Is there a way to scrub adjust the tempo in decimal steps without typing the value manually every time?

Hi,

You can also use the mouse scroll-wheel, instead of click+drag mouse.

But there is no way/modifier, how to make fine steps. You would need to double-click and type the exact value.

I’m using Cubase 14 Pro on Windows 10. If I hold Alt and click the value, a vertical scroller appears that enable changes in-between beats, It’s a bit coarse, though. I’d take a screen shot but I only have two hands…
I also use a mouse that enables me to change the DPI on the fly. Makes it less coarse - manure instead of sh :scream:t.

I don’t know what this means.

Hi @cubasened
That would be nice of course, but as @Martin.Jirsak wrote it´s not possible. You can of course put in 67.343 or whatever. Then it just goes 66.343 or 68.343. You can mark it in the Transport Bar and use shift+up/down arrows.

Instead and what I sometimes do is make some Tempo Track versions. (No need to have all tracks in your projekt set to the same version ID so it´s a real quick setup).

The big advantage is that you can make a loop selection, put your hands on next/previous KC´s, close your eyes and get a feel for the right tempo to go for.
