How do I change the default appearance of percussion kits?

I know how to change them in the layout options,
but how do I change the appearance of percussion kits (and instruments made from percussion kits) so they will load in a new project with the chosen appearance (5-line staff, Grid or 1-line)?

For instance-
After saving my Taikos with a 5-line staff appearance, they load as a grid appearance by default in a new project:

If you save the kit as Drum Set (checking it in the Kit Editor Dialogue upper right), it will load as 5-lines staff in new projects. (not sure what disadvantages this may have, thought)
