How do I copy a track with its inserts and all the other settings

This is very basic I realize, but Cubase is so deep with multiple ways of doing multiple things that sometimes I either forget or it isn’t easily searchable to find the specific solution…anyway, I use guitar software (guitar rig, etc) that are listed as ‘inserts’ in the far left of my Cubase 12 Pro (plan to upgrade eventually) once I have them assigned to a track…so I have forgotten how to simply copy a track that has Guitar Rig as an insert and all the amp settings how I want to start a new track with all the Inserts from the copied track in there…can someone explain? I’ve attached a screenshot..

If I’ve read this correctly you want to duplicate the track followed by remove the content.

This is two separate operations, easily set up to one key command using a macro. I actually think there is a pre-set macro just for this.

If you want a new track with the same setup, save the track you have in a Track Preset. Instead of opening a new, empty track, open the Track Preset. You will then get a new track with all the saved settings.

Indeed.
I often select a part and Alt+drag the part down to below the last rack. A new duplicate is created, the part is still selected, so just delete it. Takes about 2 seconds.

In the mix console, you can can copy+paste all the track’s settings (routing, fx, sends, level) by either

  • selecting the track, CTRL/CMD+C, select the new tracl, CTRL/CMD+V
  • click the channel name at the bottom, drag and drop onto the new one with ALT key pressed.

You can also copy+paste the only the pre section, inserts or sends by right click on the section name, there are also copy+paste menu entries there. This works in the mix console and in the inspector/channel view of the arrangement window.

The other replies are valid. The way I do it–just right-click on the track in the Project window, select Duplicate Tracks, and then delete the audio events from the duplicate.

I am also using this macro. Got a key command assigned to it.
The macro ensures that any automation data is erased on the new track additionally to events and parts.

You need the macro “Duplicate Selected Tracks without Data”, that’s the one @Mrhehon and @Johnny_Moneto refer to.
