How do I create a cut-time signature with a pickup bar?

I can’t figure out how to create a cut-time (C with line through it) meter with a pickup bar. Using the popup I can only input 2/2, 1 and I get the 2/2 time signature and the pickup bar. I can do the same thing with the time signature tool at the left of the main Write mode screen.
But my client wants the C-with-line-through-it meter AND a pickup bar.
I’ve looked everyplace I can think of and can’t figure out how to do it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Entering “cutc,1” into the time signatures popover (Shift-M) should work? Presuming you want two crotchets/quarter notes in your pick-up bar?

Inputting 2/2,1 and then deactivating the “Common/Cut common” property in the lower zone should get you the right result, as well.

Thank you – I had forgotten about using cutc in place of 2/2. Problem solved!

Thanks @dhbailey and @Lillie_Harris, I had the exact same problem! it took me a little time to find this thread, but I’m delighted to have found it.

Great to hear. What sort of phrasing were you using when searching for an answer? In case I can improve search results in the manual.

Hi @Lillie_Harris thanks for your response, as best I can recall it was ‘anacrusis with cut-time signature’.

Would you be so kind as to suggest how I might achieve the closing part of a slur in a second Volta (which commenced before the first volta) please?

You’ll need to use another complete slur for the time being. Add a slur between the notes in the second ending that should be slurred, and then in Engrave mode, drag the left-hand end of the slur leftwards so that it starts at the appropriate point.

Thank you @dspreadbury it works, which is the main thing! At first, I found it a bit awkward (navigation wise) but then realised bar numbers can be shown in the ‘engrave’ layout.

So far, so good. In my opinion Dorico is leagues ahead of Sibelius, StaffPad and Symphony Pro in what can be done and how things can be achieved.
