How do I do these tasks (Brackets) (Pickup Measures) etc.

I am wondering how to do these tasks in Dorico. I am right now in the process of switching from Finale to Dorico, and am wondering how these tasks are done.

(1) Common in hymnals, there would be no staff labels. How would I get rid of staff labels?

(2) How would I create a pickup measure?

(3) When working with Brackets, how would I change the bracket of staves if needed? Sometimes, I need the [ Bracket, instead of the { Bracket.

If you all could let me know how to do this, it would be appreciated.

  1. Take a look at the settings in Layout Options > Players and Staves.
  2. For a 4/4 bar with an anacrusis of one quarter note summon the meter pop-over (Shift+M) and type “4/4,1”.
  3. Engraving Options > Brackets and Braces. Here you’ll find all the options for brackets and braces that are currently available.
