How do I generate chord symbols on Dorico SE for Windows?

Nothing online helps. Nothing works. I know I can do it, because everyone else can, but I can’t.

So, I am just going to ask, since search engines are of no help: How do I generate chord symbols from notes? I know how to manually input them, how do I generate them automatically please and thank you?

Welcome to the forum @gamerswag257.

I didn’t think Dorico SE had this feature. Are you positive that you saw this feature in Dorico SE?

In Dorico Pro you choose Edit > Notations > Chord Symbols and Diagrams > Generate Chord Symbols from Selection, or choose it from the context menu (right-click).

I was not aware this was a Pro only feature. My professor advised us to get Dorico SE and to use this feature to generate chord symbols nice and easy. Guess he didn’t do his research, lol. Thank you for the assistance.

Perhaps ask him to demonstrate? You could put some money on it… don’t blame me if you lose though!

I checked, and this function (Generate Chord Symbols from Selection) is only present in Dorico Elements and Dorico Pro.

Surely this would be easier for him…
It seems he will have to teach you the real skills.
