I have a score with 2 singers and basso continuo. The continuo part was created using the 2-stave organ, so it should have a brace by default. If I select the no-bracket option in Layout options, I get a bracket on the continuo. If I go with small ensemble format, I get bracket on voices and continuo. There’s a “bracket and barline change” flag. If I delete it, nothing happens. If I toggle between “custom” and “auto” on “change bracketing”, “custom” gives me no bracket or brace on the continuo. I’ve tried reselecting organ, and setting the brace size to zero staves and then back to 2. It’s possible that I may have changed something and not know what I changed. How do I fix this?
You can always use the Library Manager to compare your document’s settings with the Factory Defaults, or your own saved defaults.
The default should be a keyboard continuo grand stave with a brace, and bracket for the 2 singers, so if that’s not happening, I don’t know where it’s gone wrong.
You can always post the file here, so we can see what you’ve done, and offer advice.
Fist time using the Library Manager (I’m new here). Very slick! Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything that could be the problem. So here’s the project.

I find I can force a brace in engrave mode. But I have no idea what is peculiar to this Organ instrument that we would need to do that.
(Aside: If you remove the page override from page 6, the blank pages will disappear.)
Your Instrument definition is set to show a Bracket rather than a Brace. If you want a Brace, go to Setup Mode and edit the Instrument Definition from the “…” menu. There you can change from Bracket to Brace.
Duh! That did it. I don’t know how I missed seeing that; even looking for it, it took a minute or so.
Mark: Sorry about that. I deleted most of the measures of the file without thinking that there’d be empty staff dendritus (and not seeing it in galley view)
