Recently moved up to Cubase Artist, and whilst I find it excellent, there’s one thing thats bugging me. The way that notes are repeated in the Automation channel. It means that the actual automation is hardly visible.
Is there a way to turn this feature off because I find it very annoying?
Thanks for your reply. There is no option in Cubase Artist to not show Data on automation tracks, which I find crazy. In fact, I’m not sure why you would want to show data on the automation tracks, let alone not giving the option to turn it off, because it muddies the view and can be confusing. Come on Steinberg, you need to address this issue in the next update.
Anyway, rant over, I’ve found a way to make the automation clearer. Select the automation tracks, click on Project and Colorize selected tracks. I chose a pale blue which gives a good contrast. Its not perfect, but it gives a clearer view. Hopefully this may help others who have the same problem.
You can also colour the automation tracks different to the main track, if it helps.
Also, in the Cubase prefs, if you raise the project timeline brightness to be similar to those greyish-blue notes they become less visible too. But then you’re affecting the entire look of Cubase as a ‘fix’.
As you say, why anyone would want that as the default is bizarre, surely SB should set it as off by default. I don’t get why only Artist is like this, either. And supposedly by design (?!)
