How do I get this number in top left corner to show up on every part?

Here is the number I am trying to show on every part in the top left corner. How do I apply this to every part? Step by step instructions are appreciated, as I am pretty new to Dorico. Thank you!

All you need to do is add an appropriate text frame into your Page Template(s) in the Page Template Editor. This way, the change will appear in all layouts which use that template.

Thanks so much, that is very helpful! If my part becomes two pages, what do I do if I only want the 6 to show up on the first page?

We edited only the First Page template: the fact that it has a left and right page, doesn’t mean that on page 2 of your score the 6 will appear, because from page 2 the layout doesn’t use the First Plage Template but the Default Page Template.

The Left and Right pages in the Page Templates are there so you can decide to have different results (like in the Default page template where the page number is on the left for even pages, and on the right for odd pages) or if, for example the first page of your layout is a left or a right page. Normally the page 1 of a layout is an odd page (1 or 3…). If you want your layout to start with a left page, you can set the first page to be an even number (2 or 4…) in Layout Options>Page Setup>Page Number.

If you want each part to have a unique number: every Layout has its own number, and you can add it to a part using the LayoutNumber token. (So you would only have to modify the Part page template once, and it would be done for all parts.)
