How do I hide channels that have muted parts with Logical Editor?

Hi to all,

I was wondering, is there a way to hide channels that have muted parts (not muted channels) via the Logical Editor?

I tried to find the command on the net, but I had no success. There are tutorials on how to hide muted tracks (which is already a function in Cubase) and disabled tracks, but not for what I am looking for.

Would you know the settings to achieve this function via the logical editor?

I don’t think there is a key command for something like that.

Thanks so much!

Well you’d need to use the Project Logical Editor and not the Logical Editor (which is for MIDI Data).

Not at Cubase and not sure it’s possible - but I’d look at settings conditions that look for both a Track AND a Container of Parts which are Muted.

I find the Logical Editor intimidating , but from what I gather, using it is the only way to get this function.

I just don’t know how to set it to do that.

It is the Project Logical Editor. It sounds very similar, it looks similar but it is not the same.
I have tried to find a setting but nothing worked. Maybe someone else can envision a way.

Fair enough. I had a good look through the good old internet, and there was nothing there, anywhere, about this…

Same. I don’t think the PLE can do it - although it’s always amazing how folks here can figure out clever approaches.

Ok, I think I found a way.
Pre-requisites:

  1. Enabled the preference Editing → Track Selection Follows Event Selection
  2. You need to save the preset below of the Project Logical Editor into the appropriate folder
  3. and then create this macro, which you can then run.
ZZZZ Select tracks with muted parts.xml (6.4 KB)

If a track contains any muted part or event it will get hidden.
PLE looks like this:

Thank you so much! I will give it a go. :folded_hands:

I forgot to mention: Enabled the preference Editing → Track Selection Follows Event Selection
If you usually have this preference disabled just add it to the macro two times. At the beginning and at the end.

Appreciated! :folded_hands:
