I’m starting on book 2 of a music textbook, and I want to set it up better than I did in book 1. I’m creating a different layout for the various types of examples that will be imported into an InDesign layout. Sometimes, things should line up like a score but not have a systemic bar line, like this:
In book 1, I engraved this on two lines of music, hiding the empty staff on each line. Is there a way to do this on the same line, hiding the initial bar line?
Thanks Mark. Would you happen to know how I can make a generic line body that looks like a guitar wedge so I can place the half-step indicators more easily?
For hiding the systemic barline for 2+ staves, you could probably do something useful with a system break or hidden coda marking, combined this property:
Perhaps a guitar bend, adjusted in Engrave mode if needed?
Thanks Lillie. I’ll try using a system break at the start of the flow to hide the initial bar line. That makes more sense than using a hidden coda, which seems like a workaround.
For the half step indicators in my example, I would rather use a line like I did with the whole step indicators. Guitar bends rotate as notes move up or down. So, if there are changes to the music, I have to always be on the lookout for correct placement of guitar bends. Those work great when use as intended.
Do you think we’ll be able to customize more in future releases? I spent a fair amount of time trying to create the wedge I need using line bodies, to no avail.
