You’ll find Tremolos in the Repeats section of the right-hand panel; and you can configure their appearance, as ever, in Engraving Options.

Is there a way to change the appearance for a solo tremolo?
In what way? Engraving Options covers all the built-in appearance options.
I think for this whole-note tremolo, you’ll have to use a hidden tuplet, because tremolos are usually written (as I understand it) as double the note value, so you get two breves for two whole notes!
Create two half notes, then select the tremolo marking you want. Knowing I have the notes in wrong order, nevertheless the result will be:
In engraver options use this setting to achieve the final result (thanks @benwiggy)
In engrave mode you can move start and end into the measure if that’s where you want them.
I will replace my screenshot with yours to eliminate confusion?
