How do I log on to Steinberg Download assistant
Do you already have a mySteinberg account? That is necessary to administer the Steinberg licenses you buy. With those mySteinberg credentials you also log into the Download Assistant.
Do you know that I do not know. It must have been sometime since I upgraded to D5, but whenever I log onto the Forum, it must be a different logon details - where can I find the details for a steinberg logon so that I can use the download assistant ?
It’s the same credentials as if you log on via our Steinberg website
If you forgot the password, click the link below.
After a very long struggle I have logged on to My Steinberg and managed to access the updates.
However, two of the elements I needed do not load. The 5.1.81 elements paused after only 20 Mb (of about 400Mb) and Jazz essentials did not complete loading. Both paused after only part of the download, and I was unable to complete process.
Also, before the process started, I was told that Elicenser was not available, and all the successful downloads ended with the statement Install again.
What do I do now ? Has the apgrade worked ? will D5 work after all of this ?
Sorry to hear about that.
As long as the download is not finished also no installer ran, yet. So your Dorico should be in the same state like before and still run like before.
But you want the update, right? Either in the Download Assistant you can try again by clicking on the Install Again button or what is it showing now?
Another alternative is to directly download the update from our Steinberg website.
Direct download you can do here
But after download you have to unpack it and run the installer by yourself, but that is easy to do, right?
Unpack - How ? Run installer - How ? This is very new territory for my - probably outside my knowledge
If you are on Windows, you download a zip file which you first need to unpack. Do a right click on the zip file and choose Extract All, you will then see a setup.exe, double click that one to start the installer.
On Mac you download a DMG package on which you do a double click to mount that file as a virtual disc drive; inside that virtual drive you find a file ending on PKG; this is the installer, double click on it and the installation process will start.
Thank you - where do I find the zip file ? I am on W10
If you follow my given linkt to our website and if you scroll down a little bit, you should see
If you click on Dorico Pro 5.1.81 Application your browser will start automatically the download which will go into your default download directory, which defaults to your Downloads folder in your home directory.
The downloaded file will be named Dorico_5.1.81_Installer_win64.zip. That is the zip file you need to extract (right click and click in the pop-up menu Extract All)
Once finished you will find in the extracted folder the Setup.exe. Double click that to start the installation.
Thank you. The obvious thing I could do is not to upgrade, but run D5 Elements and see if I can work with that, then upgrade to D6 later. Sorry for the ramblings.
