How do I reconnect C14 Pro to ARA after they inadvertently get disconnected?

Hi -

A problem came up using Revoice Pro 5 (RVP) via ARA, but I’m guessing the solution might be generalizable to Melodyne, SpectraLayers, etc.

I was using the ARA program (RVP, for vocal tuning/timing) when Cubase crashed. I had no problem finishing the work in the ARA program even after that, hearing all the edits properly during RVP playback, and saving the project in RVP.

But when I rebooted Cubase … I couldn’t figure out how to connect it back to the correct RVP project so that when I played the vocal in Cubase I could hear the changes I’d made in RVP.

I tried the following:

  1. Removed all Cubase extensions.
  2. Opened the RVP session that had all my edits in place.
  3. Added the RVP extension back to the Cubase vocal track.
  4. Played the vocal segment via Cubase

The result of that is that Cubase did not access the ARA-based RVP, and therefore playback in Cubase was the unedited vocal track - there was no extension Cubase connected to that I could “Make Permanent”.

And just to make sure the RVP changes I’d made were still intact - yup, when I played the RVP project, I could hear all the edits properly in RVP.

Thanks for any help!

I’ve given up on ARA Revoice Pro 5 (RVP). It’s probably my old computer, but I get crash after crash.

Working with the stand alone version of RVP is way better for me.
