How do I untie/cut a selection of notes across staves?

I know that it is possible to untie/cut in the middle of a note with the “U” key where ever my carrot is placed. Like this:


But I am wondering if there is a way to perform the exact same untie/cut, but through multiple notes across different staves at the same time? For example, is it possible to cut all of these notes at the same time on b. 3? So b. 1 would be a half note and b. 3 would be a quarter?

Place the caret on the top staff, type Shift-Down Arrow a few times to extend the caret, then U to cut.

The Extend-o-caret is one of my absolute favourite bits of the software. Try it with dynamics, too!
