How do I use x noteheads and others for pitched percussion?

With the un-pitched percussion you can edit the playing techniques (and therefore playback) of various noteheads. How do I do that for pitched percussion? I need alternate playback for various techniques of roto toms, vibraphone and timpani.

Pitched percussion behave like normal pitched instruments. You can change noteheads, but you will need to define/add playing techniques (which you can hide if necessary) to affect playback.
