I’ve just spent at least 30 minutes trying to notate a simple slide for guitar. I’ve been through multiple topics in Help, to no avail; it tells me all sorts of things I can do once the damn thing exists in the score (basically via the properties panel), but not how to input it in the first place. (And, BTW, this is a characteristic flaw of Dorico Help, IMO: it often addresses minutiae that you don’t care about at length, while omitting the basic information you seek!)
So, what are you supposed to do? I don’t see anything in the ‘lines’ selection that looks promising, nor in the articulations. But I know it’s got to be there somewhere!
Update: partially solved. The crux of the issue was that I was highlighting both start and finish chords for the slide, so the properties panel–which seemingly wants this technique to relate only to the finishing tone(s)–wasn’t showing me anything as relevant properties. With that figured out, I was able to select “scoop” as a jazz articulation. But to my mind, that’s not the most accurate notation. Any suggestions?
After, you can change the playback type (here, when I use the gliss/slide, this is added/played chromatically, so is necessary to change) on the lower zone panel:
