That is how it appears in my browsers. If yours is different, there might be a setting in your browser that overrides the font settings for web pages.
We can use a Heading font
by typing one or more dashes - on the following line.

I find that in the list of threads on iOS, they do not show in boldface, and as a result it is very hard for me to distinguish the “read” from “unread” colors. (I doubt that is what the OP is referring to either, but I have been wanting to mention it for 2 years.)
They do show in boldface for me (iPad, iOS 17.6.1 — although they did even in earlier versions).
Ah, maybe there’s even a difference in style sheets between iPadOS and iOS due to the screen size. I’m on 17.6, but this has been true on my phone since at least iOS 14.
