How do you use logical editor to generate a random pattern of midi notes in a specified key?

Why would you do that with the logical editor? Could one of the midi fx (arpeggiator) do that for you?

For inspiration for new melodies. Happy accidents. The midi notes would need to remain static as opposed to generated by a midi fx for this?

Hi, I still would use the midi fx and record some of the random patterns it produces. Then I would chop into segments and use these as a basis for loops.
