For real, the Gain dial being that white square at the central top of an audio clip has been a Cubase legacy that was not broken, yet they changed it to the bottom left and I want to vomit.
Who does this? This was an awful decision, diabolical even ![]()

Really?
It was moved out of the way to make room for the event envelopes.
It was broken as it only showed attenuations but no gains.
You can now click anywhere on the event while holding the assigned modifier keys (by default Ctrl + Shift / Cmd + Shift) to change the event gain. No need to use the little icon in the bottom left.
Works like this since version 14.0.20
The new one is sort of “broken” too, though - it happens often that I’ll adjust it by accident when I want to resize an audio part, move it or make a fade-in and the clip is small enough. This never happened with the old handle.
Also, regarding the visibility of gains - Reason & Bitwig solved that nicely:
Have to agree on that point. Hardly a dealbreaker though, and thankfully I haven’t experienced any heaving ![]()
