How much RAM are you running in your Windows Computer?

I am running Dorico 6 Pro on my Dell Windows 11 Desktop Computer with an Intel (R) Core i7-9700F CPU @3.00GHz. The computer on has 16 gigs of RAM. I noticed it is a little slow in loading operations like doing CTL C and CTL V (cut and paste) operations, when compared to how fast it loads that same operation in Finale. Even when opening up a new or different project, it seems to take more time to complete that operation vs. a similar operation in Finale, on the very same Dell Desktop.

Do you think I should add another 16 gigs of RAM (32, total) for faster performance of Dorico?

it going to depend on what you do. I think it would serve you well to read some the existing threads here on the subject - there are some in-depth discussions that I can’t do justice. Dorico can potentially have a lot of work to do after a cut and paste since it automatically does everything from layout, to range checks, condensing, etc. and there are discussions of ways to influence that based on what you find most important while you work.

FWIW I have 64.

I’m able to run Dorico and my Spitfire and VSL libraries - even full orchestras-with NP 5.0 quite well. I use an HP laptop with 32g of RAM. Cut and paste doesn’t take long at all.

I’ve got 128gb installed but I built my setup for audio work…I also use Nuendo, Wavelab, Halion, NI, EastWest, etc.

Same.
