How to apply EQ to MIDI instruments that are plaing?

I have a stupid questions: Is there a way to apply EQ to MIDI tracks that are not yet mixed down to an audio track?

If you hear the midi instrument playing it means that you have a correspondent audio track for it. Use the eq on its audio track.

have you ever used instrument tracks? there you can change the VSTi too.
