How to assign an instrument to a voice in Manual Condensing

In case someone else comes along and is as bewildered as I was on first encountering this, you drag the instrument(s) in the right column to under the voice you want to assign it to.

I clicked, I selected, I looked for a button, I read the manual, I consulted AI, but could never find out how one physically assigns the instrument to the specific voice after placing it in the right column… until I watched a very good online video.

Simple. once you know. Maybe this would be second nature to someone who grew up with current technology. But not obvious to me.

You can also drag it from the left column to exactly where you want it.

Or click the instrument on the left and the location on the right before clicking the arrow in the center.

Both of these are covered in the manual.

That’s good to know @asherber Thank you. For some reason, I only got the dragging over the right column part of the instructions, not the dragging under the desired voice part, perhaps because I was still unfamiliar with what was actually expected to happen through the process.
