Hi everyone, first question here after learning Dorico Pro 5 in one month (and as many of you switching from Finale after using it for 35 years). First of all, I am very impressed with Dorico, I think if Finale hadn’t sunset itself, Dorico would have done it for them anyway.
But now about my question, when I add an ossia above a single staff part I don’t want the bar lines attached to the main part. So far, no problem, with the right settings… But when I want the same setting in the piano part Dorico still shows (only) the left system barline (see screenshots). Does anyone have a suggestion how to break this line also? Thank you.
Hi Chris, and welcome to the forum!
I do not think this is possible at the time, nor — convention-wise — it is something you may want. A floating-in-the-void staff doesn’t belong to any system, nor to any instrument.
I think that’s why it is not possible to do.
If you really want this you may have to fake it with extra systems, hiding staves, changing bar numbers, etc … which would mess up part layouts considerably.
Hi Michele, thank you for your welcome message and reply, I was afraid it wouldn’t be possible, so I have decided to connect all bars.
