I have a Synthesizer instrument in my score which displays as a grand staff (bass & treble) but I would like it to be just treble. Is there a way to do this?

Either change its underlying instrument type to one that only shows one treble staff, or remove the bottom staff.
If you opt for the latter and can still see a small brace to the left of the staff, change the Layout Option on the Brackets and Braces page for whether or not to show braces on single staves.
