How to combine semibreve and crotchet on same clef

I am new to Dorico (SE, macOS 26.5.2, Dorico 6: 6.2.30.6245), and I am struggling to work out how to do the following (in the treble clef)

  1. C above middle C as a semibreve on the first beat
  2. A crotchet rest immediately below it
  3. A chord (G and F) as crochets on beat 2, with dotted notes.

The image attached shows what I am trying to achieve.

Any help on how I can do this with Dorico would be greatly appreciated.

Check the manual on VOICES. The whole note would be voice 1 and the dotted half voice 2.

Anyway, here a short tutorial on how to insert that bar (but please, work through the suggested tutorials, too! :slight_smile: ) :

Just remember that once you create the new voice with Shift+V and write at least a note with that new voice, you have now two voices living into your staff. To decide into which voice you want to write the next note, after activating the caret, you can switch the active voice pressing only V (without Shift!): you will see the little note change as described, according to the current active voice.

The shortcut V can be also use to change a selected note to the next available voice.
