how can I control the transport controls in Cubase elements 12 via AKAI mini plus 37

Hi and welcome to the forum,

If I’m not mistaken, Cubase 12 didn’t use MIDI Remote yet. Therefore open Studio > Studio Setup and add Remote Device > Generic Remote.

In the upper part define the MIDI Input messages (you can use the Learn function). In the bottom part, link the MIDI Message with the function (Transport > Start, Stop, etc.).
