How do I connect my MiniLab 3 to my Cubase
Hi,
just follow the step by step tutorial provided by Arturia explaining how to integrate their script in Cubase. Youâll find it here
Yes, but I need the script to put it into Cubase; I cannot find it anywhere.
- Click on the link above
- Pick Cubase and read the instruction
- Click on the word âhereâ if you read âDownload the script for Cubase hereâ
- Copy and paste this script from your download folder to the folder that is listed in the instruction (Windows or Mac depending on your OS)
Okay, I got that. Now the pads are working, but not the keyboard.
Oh, weâve been there with the MPK 3âŚ
Please, this time follow the instructions in the Steinberg tuturial video very closely (How to add a VST instrument). If I am not mistaken you stopped after loading an instance of Halion SE but you never loaded a sound patch. Please try any other instrument this time (Retrologue, Padshop etc).
Yepđ ⌠Still doesnât work.
Okay, please post screenshots of
- the VSTi track showing all routings and the track in the project window with a MIDI part
- Audio Connections > outputs and control room
- Stereo Out Channel
- anything that might be of interest.
The more the better!!
For a windows PC it seems necessary to install the MIDI Control Center from Arturia.
You may want to read things on the Arturia website first:
I have Arturia Keylab MkIII - but Iâm sure the set up is the same. If your pads are working but not your keyboard itâs probably because you have the DAW device but not the MIDI device set as active and donât have In âAll Midi Inputsâ checked - see below for what mine looks like. The bottom two rows are what you need to find for your MiniLab.
(From the main menu in Cubase : STUDIO>STUDIO SETUP>MIDI PORT SETUP)
Couldnt find the control room.
You failed all tests. So letâs start clean and please answer these questions:
Are you on a Windows PC or MAC?
- Is there an Arturia driver installed. I mean, the Arturia website mentions you should download and install their MIDI control Center. ( I guess it includes the required drivers)
- What Cubase version is installed? (Artist, Pro, anything else?)
- Do you have the ability to check the presence of your device in the Windows Device Manager (under Software components > Software devices) looking for something like Minilab3 etc ?)
Furthermore: that âscriptâ you are talking about is not necessary to make your keyboard play. But it will allow you to use the faders and rotary knobs in a useful way in Cubase.
Good luck!
Windows
I have the drivers installed.
Cubase 14 Elements
Yes.
All your setup looks wrong. Have you actually installed all the Arturia software. Just go back and do it all again following the Arturia PDFsâŚthan report back ![]()
I installed all the software, and now Ive reinstalled everything⌠still the same. What should the setup look like?
It works when I use a different ASIO driver. WeirdâŚ
Weird indeed (ASIO is for sound and has nothing to do with MIDI).
What ASIO driver do you use now and is the problem solved?
Iâm using FL Studio ASIO. I wanted to test if my MIDI would work there, but then I used its ASIO in Cubase, which fixed the problem.
