Would someone kindly guide me on how to install cubase 13 pro on a second Mac computer? I have a new Mac Studio 4, a Focusrite 16i16, and a Yamaha P-145 keyboard.
The recommended method is to install the Steinberg Download Assistant (SDA)
Your logon credentials will be required and the products ‘you own’ will be listed and available for download and installation.
Thanks Fantom. I had tried downloading it but when I clicked “Not Now” for installing Rosetta the file said something like “download failed”. I’ve now deleted the first file and downloaded a new one and it’s working again; however, it states:
" To open ‘Steinberg Download Assistant Setup’, you need to install Rosetta. Do you want to install it now?"
I’ve read (on this fabulous forum and elsewhere) that Rosetta causes a noticeable increase on CPU load. Will this affect a Mac Studio M4? I intend to only use this Studio M4 for music, and my preferred DAW is Cubase. I don’t think I have any VST2s but I might in the future (or if I ever find my old PC hard drive)–I did like Kontact, though I think Halion might be equally as good for my purposes. Why does it say “NEED”?
If I don’t install Rosetta, will I be able to in a month or so, once I’ve a better understanding of how Pro 13 meets my needs? If I do install it, can I remove it cleanly without upsetting my horribly expensive M4 and how Cubase Pro 13 functions? I used to use lots of samplers and synths, with a bit of analogue bass and guitar, and a mic–I doubt I’ll be recording bands again.
I understand that if I install Rosetta, the M4 (and Cubase and all VST3s) will work as a simulation rather than taking advantage of Mac’s latest silicon chip type. Have I misunderstood this?
My cursor remains hovering between the “Not Now” and “Install” buttons. Any further help much appreciated.
