Hi there,
I’m considering upgrading from GA5 to GA6, but I already have projects using GA6SE.
I’d prefer not to have to reset the settings on those tracks.
What’s the best way to replace my existing GA6SE tracks with GA6 tracks without having to redo all my settings (kits editing, etc.)?
I was under the impression that the full GA could load SE presets, but not the other way round.

GA6SE can load all Steinberg extensions, full GA5 kits included I guess.
I have several projects in progress with tracks using GA6SE with different settings. I don’t want to lose these settings when switching to GA6. If I save my settings in GA6SE, will I still be able to use them in GA6?
I don’t use SE versions and I’m waiting for a Summer sale before upgrading to GA6, so I can’t test it.
Hi Xion,
Did you try to save a new .vstpreset in GASE6 and then load it to GA6 on a new track? That should do the trick.
Since GASE6 and GA are two individual installed plug-ins, you won’t lose anything of your GASE6 settings in your existing projects.
Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan,
No I don’t own GA6 yet so I can’t try but I suppose this is the way to do.
I will try with GA5, it should be the same.
Thanks for your answer,
Xion
