I am trying to arrange Debussy’s music but encounterd this harp glissando. Two issues for me. 1, there are not enough notes in the measure (4/4). 2. How do I continue the music from the bass clef to treble clef. Perhaps it’s pretty complicated. I guess this will be very complicated. I can’t find anything on YouTube. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use tuplets (and hide the tuplet number and bracket)
In this case I would notate the tuplet in the upper stave and use M to move the notes (as cross stave notes) to the lower stave.
(It is really very simple to achieve)
Thanks for your answer. I was able to enter all these note with triplet. But I am very new to Dorico. I tried to hide the triplet number and bracket but was not successful. I tried to find answers on the Forum, and saw some posts, such as “In the View menu, hide the signposts for Tuplets.”. I tried that but didn’t get it done. I appreciate your help.
That did it! You are amazing. Now could you tell me how to move notes from the treble clef to the bass clef? Appreciative.
This is done by creating cross-staff notes.
Select the notes to move and hit M (M moves things to lower staves, N moves things to upper staves)
I got it. I just highlited the notes that need to be on the bass clef.

You could do yourself a favor by working through *First Steps* if you have not already done so.
I assume you noticed that, halfway the glissando, there is a treble clef missing in the lower staff in the original.
I still think there should be a treble clef in the left hand. Maybe you missed my last post? In your (and the original’s) notation, the left hand would have to jump back down to a low F, where IMO it’s obvious that the glissando has to continue in octaves. (Or did you actually enter a clef, but also make it hidden?)
And, the ottava line in the right hand stops too early.
Are you sure the playback is correct? Have you compared it with a commercial recording?
Thanks for pointing that out. I checked the right hand part individually on playback. Both hands line up quite well. Right hand stops with the left hand. The only issue is that there is a unnoticeable (gap in time, not sound) at the end of the glissando and before the final note. But the beat is consistent-no skipping of time. Do you have a way to solve this - to play the glissando evenly? I can live with that on the playback. I just need the music notated correctly on paper. Thanks!
You are apparently using the old Fromont edition (Fêtes from Nocturnes). There are many, many errors in these parts, although in this case the part is correct. Your score is closer but not quite correct yet.
Better to use the newer Jobert edition (although that may be copyright, depending upon which country you are in).
I don’t know how to show signposts. I tried it under view, signposts. But nothing showed up. Once it did show up accidentally and I didn’t like it so I had to delete everything and redid it. But now I can’t show it.
