hey does anybody know how i can export a microtonal score as midi and somehow get the microtones as pitch bend?
Arian, can you tell us, what happens to your microtonal score, if you export it as MIDI? Do you lose the microtonals, or are they transferred in a different way (than pitch bend)?
Now when I export midi the microtones are not exported as pitch bend or any other midi l info
I’m assuming that you are exporting from Dorico…. Does the score play properly using Dorico’s play function? If so, what is happening in the key editor (piano roll)? (Sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology – it’s not my area of expertise!) What I’m after is how Dorico handles the microtones to play them correctly. (Obviously, if Dorico doesn’t then no pitch bend or other data is being created – only the notation.) The “how” needs to be exported as relevant MIDI data and the receiving DAW or MIDI player needs to be able to correctly interpret that datapoint. Also, pitch bends are usually done through the Mod Wheel (CC#1). I’ve seen a number of other threads where this CC is being used for volume. So maybe there is a mapping conflict?
Is there any way of writing a couple of notes and reading the MIDI/SYSEX data from an export?

could you post a small example of your microtonal music as a Dorico project file? Even if it is just a few bars..
If you want to have pitch bend events in a MIDI file exported from Dorico, you need to ensure that pitch bend is actually being used for playing microtones. Open every expression map used by the instruments in your project, expand the section named Expression Map Data and set Microtonality playback to Pitch Bend:
