I get these audio glitches every second or so when exporting audio even if exporting in the slower/higher quality mode. Any ideas what I need to do because this isn’t something I can present. It doesn’t happen in playback, only when exporting audio. I use NotePorformer (latest version) and have Dorico 6.2.0.6088 (Mar 6 2026) and Dorico 6 AudioEngine Version 6.1.0.13 and on Windows 11 but also use a Mac if that could help. Thanks!
If you go to Edit > Device Setup, what ASIO driver do you have selected there and at what sample rate? Additionally, if you click on the Device Control Panel button, a new little window appears. The content of that window is driver specific. Is there somewhere an option for the driver’s buffer size. If so, what if you play with that setting?
Hi Ulf, it is set to Steinberg built in ASIO driver. Pressing the Device Control Panel, doesn’t seem to indicate the driver’s buffer size, image attached.
Having input and output set to different sample rates may not affect your problem, but the situation seems as if it would cause problems at some point.
Different sample rates can, indeed, cause problems. I use Hauptwerk quite a bit and if my system sample rate does not equal Hauptwerk’s sample rate, the pitch of any virtual organ in Hauptwerk changes to something bizarre on my Mac. 48000 Hz seems to be the rate that works best in my setup.
Right, as the others already said, having different sample rates on input and output is not a good idea.
Since Dorico does not use input ports, you can also simply deactivate the input port by clicking at the cross mark in front of the port.
These kinds of ‘pops’ can also be caused by a CPU core maxing out. Is there an app on Windows that shows you CPU usage of processes (like Activity Monitor on Mac)..? What’s your hardware?
I have an 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900k @ 3.50ghz (according to task manager). It says 8 cores and 128 gb memory.
When exporting to audio it doesn’t seem to go above 25% of CPU utilization.
