How to get a guitar bend line in a non-guitar player?

I need to create a jet whistle and would like to avoid having to use grace notes to connect the lines as they will take too much horizontal space.

The “Guitar Bend” ornament looked perfect for this but, upon selecting the notes and clicking on it, nothing happens (I’m in a flute instrument).

How does one solve this in Dorico?

Out of the blue I would suggest using a guitar instrument camouflaging as a flute.
There might be other ways.

Sadly not an option in this project for just a couple of occurrences.

I’m not familiar with this type of notation so please ignore if this is not helpful, but could you use the Flip ornament instead? In the first bar I inserted it as an ornament, in the second bar I created a playing technique with the glyph (it’s in the Brass techniques category) and scaled it to 125%. Both are then repositioned in Engrave mode.

Why not?!

I’ve also created a playing technique with a glyph that looked acceptable.

Still, I find it irritating that one cannot just click on the bend and then get the lines between notes. Semantics … yes … ok … but sometimes I just want a break!
