How to get a strong attack with sustain on violin in full version of sections and players

I am trying to accent a quarter note. What I would like to sound like is close to a staccato attack that merges into a sustain. I am getting inconsistent accenting (sometimes the accent is not there at all) and wonder if there is a technique or setting I could use to implement this articulation.

I have tried many options–maximizing velocity and expression, layering the output using different tracks to with different articulations sfz, etc.

I am entertaining suggestions.

Thank you in advance

Have you tried using EnvelopeShaper? It can help accentuate transients and therefore the attack of the sound.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely give it a try to see if it works on a violin accent/attack.

After trying this I discovered that I had some overlaps that interfered with the attack. Also the dynamic of my marcato was set too low and I had to boost the gain on the instrument with the midi controller.

The Envelope shaper helped a little, but sort of gave the sound an unnatural effect. But I am glad to know that this exists and will definitely use it in the future.
