How To Get Rid Of Background Audio

Hey there, newbie once again…

I’m just wondering how to create an acapella from an audio track that already has a beat? It’s just a small part and I’m doing a remix; I trimmed and I’m trying to extract only the vocals, just wondering if this is possible? I have Cubase 7.5 if that helps any

thanks

Hi,

I’m sorry, there is no function to extract vocal in Cubase.

It is possible to isolate vocals by notch filtering the track but the results depend heavily on the frequencies of other accompaniment and how you plan to use/mask the non vocal artifacts which will inevitably come through. Just for information - some software attempts to remove the vocals with two procedures, notch filter to remove the vocal frequencies and also emphasising this on the centre of a stereo track which is where most vocals are usually placed. This leaves enough non vocal frequencies to render a simplistic version to create a home karaoke version.

Thanks for the help
