How to get support

I am confused… I would like to speak with someone and ask a few questions.

New to Cubase and need someone to walk me through my questions…

What do I do next???

You can ask your basic questions on the forum, and other users will most likely be able to help you. If you need actual support, sign-in to your MySteinberg account and find the support button to open a ticket.

thank you for your suggestion…

  1. How do you delete an audio track from mix window???
  2. I imported a stereo audio file… how do you make it two mono channels??
  3. I created a midi track…loaded an instrument… and have no sound from that channel…I believe it is my lack of understanding Cubase 14…how do I correct this???

Deleting a Track will delete it from the entire Project. If that’s what you want to do, the easiest way is to right+click on it in the Project Window and select the Delete option.

If you want to keep the Track in the Project but not see it in the MixConsole, open the MixConsole’s Left Zone, Select the Visibility Tab and uncheck the box next to the Track’s name.

thank you raino… perfect

MIDI Tracks exist for backwards capability and some other specialized tasks. If you are just learning Cubase I’d suggest avoiding them and instead use Instrument Tracks. With a MIDI Track you need to manually configure the connection to your Virtual Instrument and manage its Audio Routing separately. Where an Instrument Track combines the MIDI & Audio into one integrated Track Type.

However when you say MIDI Track you might actually mean an Instrument Track and just got the jargon wrong. An Instrument Track has an icon that looks like a keyboard where a MIDI Track’s icon looks like an old fashioned MIDI cable plug. If you are indeed using an Instrument Track please post a screenshot that show the items circled red below.

Look at the Preferences->Editing->Audio->On Import Audio Files. Change the settings and Import again.

thank you…

Thank you…

Hi @JD_Morris_Doug ,

may I ask - please, try to ask one question per thread.
This way, future users will find answers to similar questions much easier.
It’s all good - how could you possibly know. Keeping one topic for each question is also extremly helpful if there are multiple answers/solutions to a question. This can get quite messy in no time if there are multiple unrelated questions/problems involved.

thank you for your help… I will revise my posts to only one question… I was not aware of it.
