I sometimes need to group notes irregularly as in this case where I have 6/8 time but want to temporarily use 3 quarter notes in one bar without changing the time signature.
This grouping will make it sound like two bars of 6/8 time = 3/2 time. You can see my bass notes grouped correclty but I need the tied 8th in the middle of the bar to display as a quarter note. How can I do this?
Thank you but that has nothing to do with my post. Clean lengths helps the score editor display overlapping midi notes and nothing else, I am asking how to turn a tied note that crosses the middle of a barline into one note. Not sure how we missed as I tried my best to post my question as diligently as possible.
You were very clear… try the Syncopation option (with or without Clean Lengths).
Otherwise modify the Time Signature (for the measures involved) and hide it.
