in mm 37 bassoon 1 plays but basson 2 does not and the score condensed staff shows weird rests. i cannot select them and do ‘hide’ rests. what to do
Do you have a condensing change in that measure in one of the bassoon parts?
I had a similar situation recently. Modifying and/or moving the condensing change resolved the problem.
At the beginning of measure 37 in the score, add a manual condensing change which puts the first bassoon in the up-stem voice and the second bassoon in the down-stem voice. When you want the bassoons to share a voice at some later point, you will need to add another condensing change which resets the manual condensing.
