How to import key commands from Cubase 11 to Nuendo 14?

Hello!

In the topic it was said that I can copy the Key Commands.xml file from Cubase preferences folder, but I couldn’t find it at first. Instead I tried to export the profile from cubase and import it in nuendo. It was successfully imported and activated, but the key commands weren’t. I tried then to find that file in Cubase folder and copy it to Nuendo folder and was able to find it in in here C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 11_64, but after opening the Nuendo folder C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Nuendo 14_64 I could find the Key Commands.xml inside. So I copied it from Cubase folder, but it didn’t work…

Hi,

You have to

  • Quit Nuendo first,
  • then Paste the Key Commands.xml file and
  • then start Nuendo.

To import the profiles would be another possible way.

Hi,

You are tight. But this is also not totally straightforward. You have to:

  • Prepare your settings.
  • Quit Cubase.
  • Start Cubase.
  • Create the Profile.

The reason is again the same… Cubase stores the settings while quit. And the Profile file just collects the current (last stored) preferences (i.e. the settings/preferences stored while the last quit).
