Thank you. Could you show it in slower speed? It’s too fast, so I can’t really understand it even after watching it several times.
Try this, which is a little more straightforward than the GIF above.
Start an eighth note triplet (; then 3:2e and Enter).
Immediately start a 2:3e tuplet (; then 2:3e and Enter).
Enter your quarter note.
Select the 2, open the bottom Properties panel, and toggle on the Number property to hide the number.
Select the note and type Shft+R then 1 and Enter.
I usually see the tuplet number centered over the stem with this notation, which you’ll have to do in Engrave mode.
Thank you. I understand now. Is it possible to play triplets? I tried doing as you suggested, but when I play it, it plays as two notes. Is it possible to play three?

Steps on GIF:
- Ctrl+8 (I’m on Windows) for lower zone (you can open it after);
- Shift+N for start note input;
- 5 for select eighth note ♪;
- ; for tuplet (will appear 3 or 3:2) ;
- Q for chord input;
- After, select just the notes and add a 2:3 tuplet (; + 2:3 ) ;
- Select the notes and press 6 for quarter notes;
- Add the tremolo, via Shift+R +/ ;
- Select the 2:3 tuplet and hide it in lower zone, “ticking” number;
- Select all, including the 2:3 Signpost;
- Press R to Repeat the figuration.
(PS: my keyboard is in Portuguese - Brazil - so, consider that / is ; . This is an inconsistence in the program I used for show the keys on screen. Sorry for that… but you can consider the steps above!)
The usual way to do this is to right click and do Staff > Add Staff Above and add the real triplets there.
Then right click the staff you added and do Staff > Remove Staff.
And finally, select the notes in the main staff, and in the Properties panel turn on “Suppress Playback”.
Notes in hidden staves will still play back, so you’ll hear the triplets and not the duplets.
Edit: jesele’s solution for this is better, because it doesn’t need an extra staff for playback.

Is it possible to add a staff at the very top to delete notes after inputting them, making the invisible staff reappear? I think this is necessary for editing.
Alternative way:
Shift-N for note input.
5 for eight notes.
Shift ; for tuplet
add 3 notes (or chords with Q)
Select the first note (or chord), 6 for quarter, dot for dotted quarter.
Shift-R /
In Engrave mode, hide the rhythm dot in the properties panel.
In Write mode, select the note (or chord) and the tuplet number, r 3 times to repeat it.
Finally, use Shift-i 4,6 (or whatever intervals) to add the intervals for the chords if you didn’t add chords in the beginning.
Will play back without an extra staff and no nested tuplets.

One small improvement: after you start the (eighth note) triplet, you can just enter the dotted quarter directly, instead of entering eighths and then changing the value later.
