How to insert a midiclip on an instrument track?

Hi,

My midi-keyboard broke on me and I’m trying to trigger a simple midinote through an instrument track.
I add the instrument track, load up a vst (kontakt), open a nice chime preset, record enable the track, master record, everything starts playing, I see the instrument track recording a clip, I click on the note I want to play in the vst, stop the recording and… the recorded clip is gone again.


TLDR: How can I insert a midiclip on an instrument track without the use of a midi keyboard?

Quickly, you can edit it in with the pencil tool in the Midi page. Also see if you can play the keyboard on the edge of the Midi timeline and see if that works.
