How to insert CC20 in a MIDI track

Sorry for the newbie question, but I am trying to insert a midi message cc20 into a MIDI track and I can’t. In the Key editor or in the Project window (with the Edit in Place option) I insert a Controller lane and assign it to controller CC20 however when I try to insert a value (i.e. 127) nothing happens (the controller line is in grey colour what I imagine to mean that is not active). When I pass the mouse cursor over the controller lane the pointer also does not change to the pencil tool like it does with the velocity controller lane.

So, what am I doing wrong? I searched the operation manual and couldn’t find an “how to…” for this.

You can get the pencil by changing to the pencil…either the pencil button or the number “8” shortcut.

CC lanes tools don’t change automatically like velocity lane does. The CC lane will be active when you add some automation to it.

Sorry, but you didn’t try this already?

Try engaging the [R]ead button before drawing in what you want.
