How to insert multiple notes in the piano roll editor eg hi-hats (aka "painting" notes)

Hi
How is this done…I’ve tried all combinations (I think) with the pencil editor eg no modifier, then combinations of alt, ctrl, shift…nothing works.

Use the Line Tool. It will create notes based on your current Quantize setting.
